Welcome to My Wealth Money!
*Handshake!*
Welcome to My Wealth Money! There has never been a better time to invest and grow your money. The tools and information available to you today are incredible and they can assist you in developing a truly powerful and deep investment portfolio that can grow into something truly substantial; ideally more than you can imagine.
On this site I will share with you the investment principles that have worked well for me over the last 18 years. Since 2003 I’ve personally experienced and gone through 2 market crashes and 1 sever downturn. The 2008 financial crisis, the 2014 oil price collapse, and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Through each I’ve come out wealthier than I was when going into each.
My investing success can be attributed to 5 factors and core principles:
Ample Cash
I always hold 10-15% of my portfolio in cash. Currently it is at 11.4% after deploying much of it during the 2020 pandemic crash. This allows me to invest heavier into stocks, less into bonds, and encourages me to hold gold to counter my increased inflation risk by holding so much cash. This has protected my stock exposure during the market crashes and allowed me to move in with cash on hand to buy shares on the cheap. I sleep sound at night knowing I always have dry powder on hand; and I’m never at my limit.

Low Fees
I’ve always kept my investment fees as low as possible which has encouraged me to use ETF’s as my primary holdings. By doing this I keep more of my money working and compounding in my favor instead of getting slowly fleeced by managers whose performance is less than the indexes they all chase. Remember the advice of Warren Buffett and John Bogle that performance comes and goes each year, but fees must be paid each year no matter what! So keep these as low as possible.

Keep it Simple
I have always kept my investment portfolio remarkably simple which allows me to focus on other areas of making and generating money. With the additional time, I can focus on this blog site, work on home renovations, manage my rental property, create new side businesses, focus on my career, and be the best I know at my craft. However, most importantly, it affords me quality time with my three kids and beautiful wife. I don’t use options, trading charts, or short stocks but instead focus on what ETF’s will give me the best total return while keeping it simple.

Stop Looking
Despite my passion for investing and making money, I’ve learned the hard way that I need to stop looking at my portfolio each day. Now, I go weeks and try to go a month without looking at the results and performance. It’s true I’ll be much more active in my account when things are crashing and I’m trying to scoop up shares at a discount, but during normal day to day markets, I will go weeks without looking. I know my allocation, I know my approach and I know it will work. Stay away, keep busy, and look for other money generating activities and income. Let your portfolio grow more passively and stay away – it honestly doesn’t need you!

I do Sell
I’m a buy and hold investor who focuses intensely on asset allocation: stocks, bonds, cash, gold, and as of 2020, Bitcoin. When one or two of these has a good run I will sell it and buy my loser asset. In this way I’ve been encouraged to buy low and sell high. Every asset class has its turn in the nice warm sun and that is the time to sell it. I rebalance my portfolio once a quarter to keep things on track and risks on target and managed.
